Withdrawal Management

With compassionate care and complementary therapies to make detox more tolerable, we’re here and help you step out of struggle, regain balance, and find your way forward.

This program includes:

  • 24/7 Nursing and Medical Supervision
  • Individualized Withdrawal Protocols
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), when clinically appropriate
  • Supportive Counseling and Therapeutic Engagement
    During Stabilization
  • Seamless Transition to the next appropriate level of care

This service aligns with ASAM LEVEL 3.7-WM, ensuring intensive care with full medical monitoring in a structured inpatient setting.


Short Term Inpatient

This level of care is ideal for those whose substance use is moderate to severe and who may also have co-occurring mental health challenges. Here you’ll find 24/7 support in a structured, therapeutic environment.

This program includes:

  • Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and Individualized Treatment Planning
  • Daily Group and Individual Therapy Sessions
  • Family Involvement and Psychoeducation
  • Evidence-Based Practices, Including CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care, and MAT
  • Access to Wellness and Expressive Therapies, such as Yoga, Art Therapy, and Physical Activity
  • Support with Life Skills, Discharge Planning, and Connection to Continuing Care

This service corresponds with ASAM Level 3.7, which includes 24-hour clinical oversight, multidisciplinary care teams, and an emphasis on medical and behavioral stabilization.


Outpatient & Intensive Outpatient Care

Our Outpatient (OP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs at the Rutgers Center for Recovery & Wellbeing (RCRW) provide flexible, evidence-based treatment for individuals seeking recovery while maintaining their daily responsibilities. Our multidisciplinary team delivers personalized care to support long-term wellness and sustained recovery.

Services Include:

  • Outpatient (Level 1)
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP/ASAM Level 2.1)
  • Comprehensive Clinical Assessments
  • Individual, Group, and Family Counseling
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP) & Outpatient (OP) Treatment
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Management
  • Case Management & Care Coordination
  • Relapse Prevention & Recovery Planning
  • Referrals to Higher or Lower Levels of Care as Needed
